Warranty Policy

This Warranty Policy explains the coverage offered by Janedore (“we”, “our”, or “us”) for products purchased on www.janedore.co.za (“Website”). It sets out the terms of our 90-Day Janedore Warranty, your rights under the Consumer Protection Act (CPA), and how to make a warranty claim.





1. The Janedore 90-Day Warranty



We provide a 90-day limited warranty on all sunglasses purchased through our website.


What is Covered:


  • Manufacturing defects affecting normal use within 90 days of purchase, including:
    • Hinges that loosen or break prematurely
    • Frame cracking due to production faults
    • Lens coating peeling, bubbling, or separating without misuse



What is Not Covered:


  • Damage caused by accidents, neglect, or misuse (e.g., drops, scratches, exposure to heat)
  • Normal wear and tear, such as fading or light scratches
  • Loss or theft of sunglasses



Resolution:

If a valid warranty claim is approved, we will provide a replacement at no cost to you.





2. Your Rights Under the Consumer Protection Act (CPA)



In addition to our 90-day warranty, all purchases are automatically covered by the Consumer Protection Act (CPA), 2008.


Under the CPA, you are entitled to a 6-month statutory warranty. If your sunglasses fail due to a genuine defect in quality or workmanship within 6 months of purchase, you have the right to choose one of the following remedies:


  • A repair
  • A replacement
  • A refund



The CPA warranty does not cover accidental damage, neglect, or misuse.





3. How to Make a Warranty Claim



To submit a warranty claim, please follow these steps:


  1. Contact Us – Email support@janedore.co.za with your order number, clear photos, and a description of the issue.
  2. Assessment – Our team will review your claim. In most cases, photos are sufficient. In some instances, we may request that you return the product for inspection.
  3. Return (if required) – If a return is necessary, we will provide instructions. Approved warranty claims include free return shipping.
  4. Resolution – If the claim is valid, we will process your repair, replacement, or refund as quickly as possible.

Even if your issue is not covered by the warranty, we strive to provide fair solutions. Depending on the situation, we may offer:
